A third light (fill light) is behind you, removing all shadows on the green screen so the green to be chroma keyed is as uniform a color as possible. This is usually accomplished with two lights (key lights) pointed at you from two different angles so no shadows are cast by the varying contours of your face. Lighting comes from properly covering you, the subject, with as much light as possible (to dispell shadows). The most important thing for a green screen is proper lighting and as much distance between you and the green screen as possible (I believe professional photographers and videoographers use 6 to 12 feet). Thanks to /u/Brawli55 for this explanation on lighting placement: Lean it on something near you vertically like I did. Lighting is simple: 1 of these, with bulbs: Your screen should be done, and look similar to this! (This is from behind, dog not included.) It should look like ĩ) From here is it straight forward - Put the 64 inch sections on each leg, going vertically.ġ0) Attach the green screen to the remaining horizontal bar nearest the ceiling, then put the 90 degree elbows on.ġ1) Connect the remaining horizontal post nearest the ceiling with the two 90 degree elbows. This will leave you with two 5 inch pieces (#4) and two 64 inch pieces (#5) using my example.Ħ) Make a leg for the base with two 1-foot sections, one 5 inch section and a PVC Tee.ħ) Put another PVC Tee on the other end of the 5 inch section.Ĩ) Join the first horizontal post nearest to the floor to both legs. ![]() The pieces to join the PVC pipe will add about an inch each.ĥ) From the pieces in step 4, cut 5 inches off. (#2 on the image)ģ) From one of the leftover four foot sections in step 2, cut four 1 foot sections for the base (#3 in the image)Ĥ) Subtract 3 inches from the height of the green screen frame, and cut 2 posts that length. ![]() It should be 6 feet wide.Ģ) Cut two 6 feet sections from to 10 feet sections. It's back together in 2 minutes.ġ0 foot length 3/4 inch thick PVC Pipe x4: ġ) Figure out how tall it needs to be. The PVC is tight fitting on its own and this frame will not fall apart unless you want it to. This disassembles VERY EACH for storage if you do not glue pieces together. With fresh materials you do not need to do this!!! I looks different because I used scrap I had and had to use other pieces to join them. The lighting costs 20$ or 30$ if you need two (I needed one). I saw a few people asking about green screens, so I decided to share my budget green screen setup, with lighting. Thanks to /u/iTruthful and Conceptional for the art!
